The Story of May De Ville Lakeside

In the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter, just a short walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, May De Ville Lakeside Hotel was born from a simple ambition: to hold onto the soul of the old town while offering the comfort of modern hospitality.

Gia Ngu Street, where the hotel now stands, has long been woven into the daily rhythm of Hanoi — street vendors' calls mingling with the ring of bicycle bells, narrow tube houses standing shoulder to shoulder with centuries of trading history behind them. We chose this address so that every guest could step outside and feel that pulse firsthand, then return indoors to a quiet, considered kind of calm.

From the beginning, we believed a true boutique hotel is not simply a place to sleep, but a place that holds an experience. Every room was shaped to feel like a home away from home, and every view of Hoan Kiem Lake from our upper floors was treated as a quiet privilege reserved for our guests. Our restaurant and rooftop bar were designed not just to serve food and drink, but to give people a place to sit, pause, and watch Hanoi change character through the hours of the day.

Over the years, May De Ville Lakeside has grown into part of the May De Ville Hotel Group — a family of boutique properties across the Old Quarter, united by the same philosophy: attentive service, refined spaces, and a genuine understanding of this thousand-year-old city.

Today, we continue that same journey — welcoming travelers from around the world and letting them discover Hanoi through every small detail of their stay.
